Debbie Gardiner MBE

We're very proud to announce that Debbie has been awarded an MBE for Services to Apprenticeships and Charity in Her Majesty the Queen’s 2018 New Year’s Honours.

Debbie established DSG L&M Consultancy Services in April 2018 to provide a range of leadership, management and consultancy services across all sectors, with some focus on Apprenticeship Reform, FE and Skills. She's keen to share her knowledge, skills and experience to improve business performance and have a wider impact on social mobility and see people maximise their potential.

With more than seventeen years of leadership and management experience in further education; Debbie was appointed Managing Director of Qube Learning, based in Abingdon, in 2006, promoted to CEO in 2010 and in December 2017 was announced as Executive Chairman.

Previously at Sainsbury's both in the retail and training divisions; her leadership and management skills are highly transferable. Debbie has a keen interest in health care, retail and people-based charities. She thrives on business improvement, maximising opportunities and seeing people reach their full potential. Debbie is keen to take up a Non-Executive Director or interim position in an organisation with shared values and where she can bring her skills, knowledge and experience and add value.

 

Debbie has been on the Board of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) in the capacity of Non-Executive Director since 2013; initially co-opted by the previous CEO followed by a current term as a fully 'members elected' Board member. AELP is a not for profit organisation. She chairs their subcontracting Board led group, which is high profile to the significant changes in the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) funding rules in this area. Debbie is a member of several other forums and groups and represents the sector on the DfE Counter Fraud Panel. Since 2013 Debbie has been an Education and Training Foundation (ETF) Leadership and Governance Programme Assessor.

Debbie is a finalist for the IoD East of England Director of Year 2018 for her role of Non-Executive Director at AELP.
